The weekend:
Marathoning "Ghost Hunt" (to be finished perhaps tonight-ish) and "Romeo x Juliet" with
isauraoktobre and
phoenix_melody, fabric shopping with Isaura and
pudges. DR time: 30 minutes, maybe?
Thoughts:
RxJ was stinking cute!!!!! I adored the characters, the music, the whole story (except for that pesky science fiction end-of-the-world twist that always tends to show up in anime).. I can't express how intensely I hoped that it would end with R&J alive and happy ever after, but even so.. I've been telling people that I generally don't buy anime - haven't for many years - but this series I WANT. (Also, the opening theme makes me laugh every time, even though I've now got it mostly memorized from singing along.)
Ghost Hunt is also very cute, when it's not creepy. You all should know, ghosts are my #1 irrational fear, and there are some parts that I've had trouble with. By and large, though, it's pretty cool. I like that it's mystery, not just stupid horror. And the main character is cute and lovable instead of annoying! Yay for non-annoying schoolgirl characters!! Also, I want a Bou-san for my own. ^_________^
The new impromptu sewing project:
Fitted, long brocade vest for my costume for the LTUE pirate banquet. It's going over a button-up white shirt with ruffly, lacy cuffs, and under my fabulous black velvet cavalry coat from Newport News. I'm still contemplating skirt or leggings for the lower half, plus my black knee boots and my red and gold stripey scarf. Vest must be done by Thursday when the symposium starts, because my dad will be in town and I'll be busy.
Also, I bought a hat. (After spending two hours yesterday searching through pirate/musketeer/cavalier hats, ugh..) This is what I wanted (top hat or bottom hat). This is what I decided to get, in black, with black and white feathers. I also considered one of these, which is what I think
thesassywench has from the Ren Faire (too bad I can't go down to AZ and buy one, and be back in time for the banquet), but decided that the other would be more versatile. It's already been shipped, so hopefully it will get here by Saturday, but if it doesn't I may have to go hatless, or rent one from Taylor-Maid or something.
The weird dream last night:
It was night. I had a job assignment that included something like an assassination, and I was nervously traveling to some hotel to perform it, while poring over my encrypted instructions (which looked strangely like the kind of Corel Draw file that I do at work for real). Then
chibidrunksanzo came up next to me (did I mention that I think we were flying on brooms?) and I asked her for her interpretation on a particular section. "I dunno," she said, then turned to
dqbunny, who'd come up on my other side, and asked, "What do you think?" She moved closer to take a look, and I realized with a shock of nerves and irritation that she was one of my potential targets, so I moved the screen away from her and said, "No thanks, I've got it."
